April 2026 Mission

April Mission Updates: Friday, April 17

Where I am: Athens, Greece

Today in a sentence:

Grateful for deep rest and a quiet day to reflect and prepare for what lies ahead.

When I woke up this morning, it was already 10:30 a.m.-nearly 10 hours of sleep. That’s almost unheard of for me, and a clear reminder of how much I needed it.

I headed off to find a place for coffee and a light breakfast. I had forgotten how uneven the sidewalks can be in Athens – and how many motorcycles share the space. I made a mental note: watch your step

I found a small cafe, ordered breakfast, and took some quiet time to begin thinking about the ministry ahead in Tbilisi, Georgia.

What I sense God is laying on my heart is this: Fear is often the soil in which faith grows. Our brothers and sisters in Georgia are no strangers to fear – and in many ways, neither are we. Fear is part of the human experience. But fear does not have the final word.

I’ll continue to sit with that thought today, trusting that God will guide what needs to be shared in the days ahead.

The afternoon was slower – time to rest, pack, and prepare for a late flight out of Athens and on to Tbilisi.

Prayer/Reflection

Lord, You are my source. When I’m afraid, You promise that You are with me.

Thank You that you don’t always remove fear – but that Your presence remains steady in the midst of it. Help me to rest in that truth.

Fun Fact:

Still. Adjusting to Athens sidewalks… uneven paths and fast-moving motorcycles keep you paying attention. It doesn’t take long to remember—this is a city where you stay aware!
