April 2026 Mission

April Mission Updates: Saturday, May 2

Where I am: Zaderaand surrounding villages, Armenia.

Today in a sentence:

A day of steady ministry – moving from village to village – where quiet conversations, shared meals, and the Word of God continue to strengthen hearts and renew hope.

There is a rhythm to these days now.

Roads that wind through hills and valleys.
Villages that appear quietly, almost unexpectedly.
Homes that open just as quietly – but with warmth that is anything but small.

Pastor K and Lilit met me again this morning, and we set out early. These drives have become sacred spaces – time to talk, to listen, and to better understand the realities facing the churches here.

There is no pretense in these conversations.
Just honesty. A desire to be faithful. And a longing to lead well.

In the Homes

Each home we entered today carried a familiar pattern.

Coffee. – Chai. – Fruit. – Sweets. But more than that – presence.

People gathered slowly. Conversations began simply. And before long, we found ourselves opening Scripture together.

There is something deeply meaningful about sitting in a living room, shoulder to shoulder, sharing the Word of God. No stage. No distance. Just people leaning in – listening, asking, reflecting.

I am reminded again: Ministry is not built on platforms. It is formed in proximity.

The Ministry Moments

Today was not marked by large crowds or outward expressions.

Instead, it was shaped by quieter moments:

  • A leader asking for clarity about next steps
  • A conversation about discouragement – and how to remain faithful
  • A prayer offered in a room where burdens were gently laid down

These are the moments that don’t always make headlines – but they are the ones that shape the Church.

Seed planting. – Encouragement. – Strengthening what is already there.

A Reflection

There is a temptation in ministry to measure impact by what is visible.

But here, I am reminded again: God often works most deeply in what is unseen.

A conversation. – A question. – A renewed sense of calling. These are not small things. They are the quiet work of transformation.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

Prayer

Lord, Thank You for the quiet places – the homes, the conversations, the unseen moments where Your Spirit is at work.

Strengthen these leaders. Encourage their hearts. Give them clarity, wisdom, and endurance. Help them remain faithful in both the seen and unseen work of ministry. And remind all of us that what is done in faith is never wasted. – Amen.
