April 2026 Mission

April Mission Updates: Thursday, April 16

Where I am: Athens, Greece

Today in a sentence:

Grateful to arrive safely, get some much-needed rest, and take in my view of Athens.

After clearing Passport Control, I was relieved to see that my suitcase made it. The weather was pleasant, but overcast – fitting for a slower, restful start to the day.

I made it to my room and quickly realized how much I needed rest. What was supposed to be a short nap turned into nearly four hours.

Over time, I’ve learned that adjusting to new time zones isn’t something to fight – it’s something to respect. A day of rest before stepping into industry isn’t just helpful… it’s necessary.

Later in the evening, I walked to dinner and caught a familiar view of the Acropolis lit up over the city. A quiet reminder of history, the Apostle Paul’s impact on this city, and a moment to pause and take it all in.

Prayer/Reflection

Lord, You invite us to come to You when we are weary – and You promise rest.

Thank You for that invitation. Thank You for meeting me here and restoring what I need for the days ahead.

Fun Fact:

My “hotel” turned out to be more like a private Airbnb. When I arrived, I realized I didn’t have the access code.

Thankfully WhatsApp came to the rescue. I was able to get in, get settled, and get the rest I didn’t realize I needed.
