April 2026 Mission

April Mission Updates: Thursday, April 23

Where I am: Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Uzbek Pastors/leaders retreat

Today in a sentence:

I was up early (6 a.m.) to study and prepare for today’s sessions.

Yesterday’s teaching on fear and faith seem to resonate strongly with our pastors and leaders. Whether we are in Uzbekistan or Arizona, fear is something we all encounter.

There was good interaction – questions and participation with the attendees. The day was full but went quickly.

Again, there were one-on-one sessions with pastors – and opportunity for me to hear their stories, and offer encouragement and prayer for them.

The one-and-a-half hour ride gives me time to reflect and settle in to the teaching. It’s challenging to type on my iPad or Phone due to the potholes and rough conditions of the road. If you’re not careful, you can look up and suddenly see a donkey or cow in front of you – or a dog who’s decided to take a nap in the middle of the dust filled road.

I arrived back to the hotel at 10 p.m., packed my suitcase for my flight to Istanbul – Yerevan tomorrow afternoon. After our morning session tomorrow, I will head straight to the airport for Armenia – the next leg of the journey.
