April 2026 Mission
April Mission Updates: Tuesday, April 28
Where I am: Artashat, Armenia
Meeting Lilit today.
Today in a sentence:
A full and meaningful day of preparation, partnership, and reconnecting with my Armenian family.
I had a good night’s sleep and awoke to discover that my head cold is improving. Thank You, Lord.
This morning provided a quiet space for study and preparation for what lies ahead this week. The schedule is full – speaking engagements and one-on-one ministry sessions – and I’m grateful for this unhurried time to prepare my heart and mind.
At noon, Lilit arrived at our Armenian family’s home. She serves as my interpreter and “office manager” here in Armenia, and she plays a vital role in our growing ministry presence. Lilit faithfully translates my writings and publications, and her contribution extends far beyond what words can capture.
Our afternoon was filled with practical work – office matters, a trip to the bank, and a currency exchange – before returning to meet with a young pastor, of whom I’ve had the privilege of walking with for several years. It is deeply encouraging to see his steady growth and maturity in ministry.
After our meeting, Edik and I drove Lilit back to her village before returning home to yet another wonderful meal prepared by Gohar.
It has been over a year since I last sat around this table. Between bites of food and bursts of laughter, there was much catching up with Sara, Angelina, Arthur, Varduhi, Miriam, Vart, and Edik. These are not simply friends – they are family.
It has been a full and meaningful day. Time now for rest – and to receive whatever the Lord has for tomorrow.
Prayer/Reflection
Lord, Thank You for the gift of partnership in ministry – those who labor quietly, faithfully, and often unseen.
Thank You for Lilit and for the many who serve behind the scenes to make Your work possible.
As this week unfolds, help me to remain attentive to Your voice. Prepare not only my words, but my heart. May each conversation, each teaching moment, and each quiet exchange reflect Your grace, Your truth, and Your love.
Teach me again that ministry is not built on activity, but on abiding in You. – Amen.
Fun Fact:
Artashat is one of Armenia’s ancient capitals, founded around 176 BC. It sits near the historic site of the monastery of Khor Virap – where Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned before Armenia became the first nation to adopt Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD.
