April 2026 Mission
April Mission Updates: Wednesday, April 15
Where I am: Phoenix – Atlanta – Athens
Today is a travel day. I leave Phoenix to Atlanta, and then on to Athens, Greece. 17.5 hours of travel time.
Today in a sentence:
Long travel days have a way of reminding me just how emotional we are as people. days.
I already miss my wife who isn’t able to be with me on this mission. At the same time, I’m excited to reconnect with pastors, leaders, and congregations I have the privilege of serving.
I can feel the tiredness setting in – but I’m reminded that God is present in all of it. One of the ways I’ve learned to navigate emotions like these is to come back to what I know is true: God has called me to this, and He is mindful of every part of the journey.
Today, I’m choosing to return to Him – the One who handles what I cannot and gives strength for what lies ahead.
Prayer/Reflection:
Lord, in all my ways may I acknowledge You. You have called me, sent me, and You direct my steps.
Give me strength for today. And even in long lines, frustrated travelers, and tired airline employees – help me reflect You well.
Fun Fact:
I managed to get lost in my own home airport this morning. After clearing TSA, I missed my gate and ended up at baggage claim.
It did give me two opportunities to thank TSA agents for their service – so not a total loss. Now… time for coffee.
